Nelson Carbonell has built impressive success as an entrepreneur and business strategist. He is currently president and CEO of Nelson Carbonell & Associates.

In 1993, out of his home’s basement office, Mr. Carbonell co-founded Cysive, a software company. With an initial investment of just $10,000, Carbonell grew Cysive to $50 million in revenue and 500 employees. The company went public in 1999.

Mr. Carbonell regularly speaks at universities, conferences, and seminars on mezzanine finance; going-private transactions; entrepreneurship; strategic business implementation of information technology; and systems risk management. He also serves as a key resource for the press, and industry and financial analysts.

In addition to various board positions, Mr. Carbonell serves as chairman of the board of trustees at George Washington University, where he received his education in electrical engineering. An avid skier, he spends his free time carving down the snow-covered mountains of Utah and Virginia.
